職位描述:
Scope: This position has responsibility for assisting the Logistics Manager in handling Air and Ocean freight from Asia and inland trucking/rail in order to move our goods from Asian ports to customers worldwide. The logistics coordinator prepares documents, contacts brokers, tracks shipments, and provides necessary support to move freight to customers while meeting delivery deadlines and budget needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintains constant (daily and hourly) communication with shippers, brokers, customs and other related parties via e-mail and phone to ensure freight moves on schedule and on budget to our customers.
2. Acts pro-actively and assertively in dealings with brokers, receiving warehouses, customer location contacts, etc. to move freight resourcefully.
3. Prepares shipment documents and update Logistics Spreadsheets.
4. Maintains frequent communication with Operations, finance and sales, as needed, but especially all Project Managers on the schedules, status and changes in priority of shipments as well as with client representatives and warehouses. All communications should be with diplomacy, tact and a sense of urgency so that we excel in our goal of outstanding customer service.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to: Logistics Manager and VP Of Operations
Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sea freight, inland truck and rail logistics; and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and QuickBooks accounting software.
Education: High School/GED equivalent required, some college or vocational training is preferred.
Work Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the import logistics, esp. China sea and air freight, customs clearance, declarations and related importation documentation, inland logistics incl. trucking and rail arrangements, quotations and contracts. Excellent organizational skills to maintain close management of multiple container shipments upcoming and in progress to achieve delivery deadlines and budgeted costs. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and QuickBooks accounting software. Strong negotiator to achieve the best rates to meet tight budgets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
